Business certifications used to be of great importance a few decades ago. But the internet changed everything.
Today, it is believed that an ecommerce store doesn’t need to have any type of business certificates especially if it operates electronically without any physical office. It is true partially. Businesses don’t need to have any certificates.
There are certain types of businesses that still need certifications. For instance, if you are running a restaurant and you wish to offer halal food to Muslims, you will have to get a halal certificate. Without a halal certificate, Muslims will not eat from your restaurant. This is the reason why a lot of restaurants spend serious money on companies like Halal Xpert to help them get halal certificates.
Same is the case if you are running a manufacturing plant, you need to get ISO certifications and other types of quality control certificates are not just necessary but are mandatory.
Things are different when you are doing business online without any physical presence. For instance, if you are running a blog and you are earning thousands of dollars from it, you don’t need any certification. You can use it without any certificate.
So it all comes down to the type of the business and on your industry. Not every business needs business certificates.
